Fall

I'm so happy it's fall! The weather is cooling down now. It's so beautiful outside! I love how cool it is in the morning and evening. I just want to live outside all the time. Everyday I have my lunch in the park next to my work. I just sit outside and read a magazine and enjoy the fresh air. I love it! I only wish the leaves would change colors and fall off the trees.....

Soooo Tired...But In a Good Way

I FINALLY STARTED WORKING!!! HOORAY!!!!! Now all those nasty credit cards can be paid off, my girls can get their allowances again, and we can go on dates! Woohoo! For those of you who don't know, I got a job at a daycare center. I started training on Wednesday, and was officially a provider as of 2:00 this afternoon. Starting Monday, I'm assigned to a 2-3yr old room. It's part-time, afternoon shift, so it works out PERFECT since David works nights and sleeps all morning. I've felt pretty guilty leaving Jade in front of a movie while David sleeps these past 3 days. But no more! I'll be able to spend all morning with her and David will be with the girls all afternoon. I'll be home in time to get dinner on the table and have some fun before bedtime. Plus...I get PAID!!! If you can't tell, I'm very happy about this job. Yeah, it'll be rough...but nothing compared to do Home DayCare for 3 years. That sucked! The center has a lot of the same rules, but the big difference is that I leave it at work. It stays there. That makes a BIG difference! So, Yay! =)

David traded in his 2004 FatBoy yesterday for a 2009 RoadGlide. It's beautiful! This is the stock photo. He had a backrest and alarm system added on.

GREAT Week!

Wow! We had such a wonderful week up north! The girls and I took off to my dad's cabin near Heber. No cell phones, no TV, no mail, no bills...it was fantastic! Amber and Jade had so much fun playing together in the forest. They loved exploring the creek bed and making "poison" in a big water barrel. And it was FREEZING most of the time! Hahahaha! The first night was the worst. We slept in the tent (cause we're camping!) and even snuggling together in a big sleeping bag with a huge heavy comforter on top, we were still cold. I ended up shoving the little girls under the blankets and keeping it over our heads. The other nights weren't as cold, thankfully! Thanks, Dad for letting us come up! It was awesome! =)

Fall Festival

Last night we went to our ward's Fall Festival. It was pretty fun. We met some new people (which is always a good thing!) and I won first place "People's Choice" Chili Contest Award. Yea! The girls had fun wearing costumes but we didn't bring any candy so we left before the Trunk-or-Treat.

I know this is all I ever post about...but they are pretty darn cute. So here's some fun stuff they've been doing.

Amber's school had Open Night on Tuesday. It was fun to see what she does all day.

Jade's learning letter A and A's sound. My goal is to get through the alphabet by the time she's 5. Then we can work on reading.

Jade snuggling her cat Crook. He was there with her for awhile, but is apparently camera shy. Oh well.

Amber lost tooth #3 on Thursday. Her two top teeth are pretty loose, too, so they'll be coming out probably before Halloween. She'll be our very own Jack-o-lantern! Hahahaha! She gave me her tooth for safekeeping as we were in the car when it came out. I put it in a napkin and in my pocket. When we got home, I did laundry and put my jeans in the wash. The tooth didn't make it. This is tooth 2 out of 3 that didn't make it under her pillow. Lucky for her, I have an in with the toothfairy. =)

I had Jade's pictures taken at Walmart the same day Amber had hers at school. Walmart is faster than Lifetouch. Here's my sweet girl. And proof that her eyes are GRAY! =) I'll post Amber's once I get them.

October Fun

My girls are really weird whenever I try to take pictures of them! I'm sure I was never this crazy! Right, Mom?? =)

Can't believe it's already October! I feel like this year has to flown by so fast. These last few days have been pretty fun. David's dad brought us our two cats from West Virginia on Sunday. I'm so glad to have my kitty Licorice back! I've missed her these past 3 1/2 years! We also got Crook...a cat we raised since he was just a few hours old. His mom was a stray and she abandoned him, his brother Spook (my mom has him), and a little sister. Crook got his name because his tail was dislocated at birth and looked like a crook. =) Since then, he's lost his tail altogether, so no one gets why his name is Crook. I think most people assume he's a thief. Ha! So we introduced Lobo (the great dane) to the cats since they're all gonna be living together now. Lobo sniffed a Crook, Crook arched his back, hissed at Lobo, and swatted his nose. Lobo tucked his tail and ran away. What a baby! But at least I know Lobo won't be having cat for a snack anytime soon! Crook is Jade's cat and she just adores him! Licorice is Amber's cat and Amber drives her crazy. Oh well. We had a scare with Crook yesterday. He had gotten out the night before without us knowing it. Jade and I searched everywhere for him all day yesterday and couldn't find him. Poor kid was in tears all day. Our neighbor finally told us she saw him on our porch the night before at like 11pm. So last night we went on a walk calling for him, but he didn't show up. I sat on our porch till 10:30 to see if he would come home, no cat. David went out around 11 to check, and in come Crook! Yea! Jade was very glad to see him. Of course we woke her up...it's her cat! We're all happy to see him back and I hope the girls learned their lesson about leaving the front door open!

We finished the Living Room! Luckily, the paint in here was fine and looked nice, so we just scrubbed the walls clean, filled in some holes, and called it a day. After a LOT of debate, I convinced David to let me put my vanity table in there after promising to keep my sewing projects put away when I'm not actually sewing.
