Picture Overload

Totally Forgot

We found out the reason why Paisley couldn't flip over. She came out with her cord wrapped around and around her tiny body. It was around her head, shoulders, body, and legs. Poor thing was completely tangled. Makes me so so grateful my doctor didn't insist on trying to turn her. That would have been disasterous and I'd have a completely different birth story to tell. It's the small miracles in life I'm deeply thankful for.

Paisley's Day

Paisley is finally here! Yesterday David and I went to the hospital to check in at 9am. Shelley and Celeste were with us, too. My doctor was running late and the neo-natal specialist was also. So even though my c-section was scheduled for 11am, I didn't actually get pulled back into the room until 1pm. Man, that's a scary looking room. It was all white with two huge bright lamps over a T-shaped bed and a ton of different medical equipment stands everywhere. I had my spinal block, then they laid me down and strapped me to the bed. At this point I started panicking cause I'm somewhat claustrophobic. Not only was I strapped down, but they put an oxygen mask on my face and the screen was only a few inches away from my face as well. They did all the prep work before finally letting David in the room. As he came around and sat where I could see him, my panic began to subside. He thankfully gave me something constant to focus on and didn't stop talking until they made him leave again with Paisley. It was the weirdest feeling having my sweet daughter literally pulled out of me. I couldn't feel any pain, but the pressure was strange and I could still feel her jumping around. I imagine she was just as scared as I was and was trying to get away from the scary doctors. They got her out, sucked the goop out of her airways, and then little tiny baby Paisley let them have it! She screamed and screamed and screamed! I started crying a bit when I heard her cry....she was real and mine. After 5 years, I have the sweetest baby in the whole world. She rarely cries (only when she's unwrapped or her diaper gets changed) and she makes the cutest baby squeaks. She loves rubbing her face on mine and snuggling on David's and my chests. Paisley has passed every single baby test with flying colors. She absolutely perfect in every way. Now if only I could be more like her.....=)

Paisley's stats: 6lb 13oz 20in long

Baby Day!

Ta-Da! Finally got a carseat and stroller last night. Graco "Little Hoot" collection. It's so stinkin cute! I know it's blue and brown, but the owls are really sweet so in my opinion it can go either way. Well....I'm off to have my baby in 2 1/2 hours (we leave at 8:30, my c-section is at 11)! I'll post when I can. =)

Paisley's Room and Other Fun Pictures

So Paisley's room is just about finished. Just have to hang up her chandeliers my step-mom got for her and put a changing pad on her changing table. Other than that, it's ready for her to move in! She won't actually sleep in there for a few weeks....not till we get a sleeping schedule down. Until then, she'll be in my room sleeping in a bassinet. But at least her room is ready. =)

Around the room in 4 pictures. =) The small dresser by the crib is the changing table. It just needs the pad on top and diaper supplies in the drawers.

These chandeliers will hang in the corner above the rocker. They're so pretty!

Pretty odds and ends in the room. The pettiskirt was made by my talented Aunt Roma and the nursing cover by David's sweet Aunt Kenon. =)

It's Official Folks!

I have a scheduled C-Section. Paisley will be born on Saturday, August 1st, 2009 at 7am! Hooray!!! =)

Paisley News

A few weeks back, my wonderfully sweet step-mom and Dad bought me a crib. It had to be ordered in the right color, so it took several weeks, but it's here!!! My dad and Jami came a spent the afternoon with us on Sunday. The crib got set up, we had dinner and cheesecake for dessert, and I got to open some baby presents since Jami won't be able to come to my shower on Saturday. She got me a bunch of really nice stuff...a really soft blanket, a cute outfit, some hairbows, a binky clip, some wall plaques, a really pretty nightlight, and 2 chandeliers! Wow! Paisley is going to be one spoiled little girl! Her room is all set up except for the chandeliers. We don't have any hooks yet....but they will be hung shortly.

I went to my 36 week checkup yesterday and Paisley's still breach. She ain't flippin. She tried a week or so ago and got stuck. Man that hurt! She's just too long at this point. So I have to go in again on Monday and my doctor will schedule me for a C-section. Hopefully on Aug 1st. So next Saturday I could have a brand-new baby to love!

David's Surgery and Subsequent Doctor Visit

So for those of you who didn't already know, David had surgery on his right shoulder last Wednesday. About 2 years ago, he had a 2nd degree seperation and a torn ligament. Well, the army hospital in Hawaii didn't care to do anything about it except give him Motrin. Yeah, that will totally fix a separated shoulder! Ha! So it healed all wrong and has given him problems since. He hasn't had 100% mobility and his shoulder clicks when he does pushups or anything like. He went to get a referral for an ortho guy to look at it here and it was determined that he needed surgery. So last Wednesday the girls and I took him to the hospital and he had a centimeter or so of bone and cartilage cut away to make more room for his ligaments to move. He came home that evening all groggy with a dead green arm. The doctor injected something into his nerve to make the arm fall asleep for 24 hours. I'm not sure what they did to make it green....but it was a bit creepy looking. Today he had a follow up visit to check on the sutures and to see how his shoulder's been healing. He had Jade with him and I had Amber with me for my 36 week checkup. I sent the camera with him so that he could take pictures of the stitches and stuff (he hadn't been able to take the bandages off yet) and apparently he gave it to Jade. So Jade went nuts or course and took a billion pictures. And dropped my brand new camera several times. Great. At least it still works. So here's a select few of the pictures taken today and last Wednesday. Enjoy!

Friend's Birthday Party

We just got back from our neighbor's birthday party. Jovani is a friend of the girls' and he just turned 7. It was a Star Wars themed party and the invitation said to come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character. So I planned on dressing Amber as Princess Leia and Jade as Padme. David decided he was going to dress up as Anakin and made a great costume using an old jacket and his graduation robe. He even wore a glove on one hand a we got him a light saber for $9 at Walmart. Then he decided that I was going to dress up, too. And since I have absolutely nothing to use as a costume, he bought 2 $3 sheets and made me a Jedi robe. Without a pattern. He cut and sewed all the pieces. Back, 2 sides, sleeves, and a hood. I ended up having to attach the hood due to David having to go help set up at the neighbors. All in all, our costumes turned out awesome and we'll definately be using them for Halloween this year. Now I have to figure out what to dress Paisley as.....
Enjoy the pictures! =)

Fun Times....Not!

Yesterday David decided to show me just how weird his sense of humor is. He pulled out his handcuffs and put them on me. And made me wear them through church. Luckily they were both on one wrist, but it was still awkward. I say he made me cause I didn't have access to the key and I'm not about to cause a big scene at church. So yes, I probably could have wrestled for the key or broken down crying or screamed at him, but I would have gotten even more stares. So I just kept my mouth shut. When we got home, he tricked me into letting him put one on the other wrist. And wouldn't take them off until I was done baking bread and getting an after church snack. Mean! So here's some pictures of me pouting and the dumb handcuffs. David found it hilarious....I didn't.
Haha! I'm a really good pouter....
FREEDOM!!!! Hahaha! =)
This is the finished portion of Paisley's room. David also painted a small dresser black for me to use as a changing table. But it's under the window that has no curtains yet, so no picture yet. My stepmom Jami bought me a crib, but it's still in the process of being delivered.
Sorry no real prego pics today. Maybe next time. Or maybe not.....=)

Time To Celebrate!!!

As you can see.....I FINALLY got a new camera!!! Hooray!!! David finally ran out of things that had to be purchased before I could get a camera. So this weekend while we were in Sierra Vista, I went to Best Buy and bought myself a nice new camera. It's a Samsung something. It was $140 with tax and has all the features I needed. The internal memory sucks, but luckily I have 5 2G SD cards that are a perfect match for it here at home. I popped one in and it apparently holds like 950 pictures. Coolness! So here's a few pictures from this evening. =)Here's my sweet little babies I keep talking about.... The orange guy is Milo and the grey girl is Tiny. Milo is my personal favorite. =)
Here's my girls with their best friends who live across the street from us. This little $12 pool has been a life saver this summer!
Here's David being annoyed with me for taking pictures with my new camera. Heaven forbid I use the thing! Hahahaha! Love you, Davey!
