Summer Kick-Off

To begin the summer right, I'm going to backtrack just a little and get caught up - yet again. Before the pool was ready to swim in, Amber and Jade had fun playing with the hose. Amber found particular fun in chasing Harley with it and making mud puddles.

Here's my cute baby:

We got home super late (don't remember why) and didn't get dinner till 8pm. Well, my girls' are normally in bed by then, and apparently Amber was extra tired. Poor girl!

Getting caught up was easy this time! K - we had our weekly family fun day yesterday because David is working this whole weekend. Including Monday. Which kinda sucks, but he'll get holiday pay for his 12 hour shift. So, yay to that! =) Yesterday we started with pizza for lunch, then went to see Men In Black 3 (which we all enjoyed even though Shyla was VERY squirmy and Paisley was EXTREMELY chattery), ice cream cones, court run (it WAS Friday afterall!), picked up David's serves, then went bowling! Neither Amber or Jade remember ever bowling, so in their minds it was their first time. We played two games. I won the first with 124pts and Paisley won the second with 100-something. Because in the second game, we got smart and taught her how to use the slide. Mainly because one of the times she just shoved her ball, it was going so slow it actually stopped and started coming back before stoping completely and we had to get someone to fetch it for us!

Over the Moon

Just got some of the best news ever!!! Like, literally 10 minutes ago! OUR OFFER WAS ACCEPTED BY THE SELLER FOR THE HOUSE WE SAW YESTERDAY!!!!! I'm so over the moon excited and want to shout it from my rooftop, but David is already sleeping - and though I tried to wake him to tell him the news, he's gone....gone....gone. The house is a short sale, so it's still a possibility the bank will reject our offer, but the seller wants us to have their home! Here it is:

It's showing "inactive" cause WE are buying it!!!! 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2/3 acres of grass and trees.... The moment we pulled up to the house yesterday, I was in LOVE. It was definately calling my name louder than any other house we've looked at thus far. And after getting the news that our offer on the Litchfield Park house was rejected this morning, this is just such a great pick-me-up! Keep your fingers (and toes and anything else) crossed that the bank will take our offer!

Feeding the Baby

Shyla is a pro with baby food now! So far she likes apples, rice cereal, oatmeal, pears, and carrots. She does NOT enjoy sweet potatoes. I'm also working on getting her okay with bottles - both pumped milk and formula. Good thing she has 3 big sisters begging to help feed her!

A Weekend At Nana's

Last Friday we went to Jami's for a Mother's Day BBQ. We haven't seen her since Easter, and since she went to Hawaii in the meantime, she was able to give the girls some fun souveniers she picked up. The three oldest had fun in the pool, practicing their hula and ukelele's, and NOT feeding cheetos to the dogs. lol Amber and Jade even spent the night with Nana! They had fun playing games till later than l-a-t-e and went to see Avengers in the morning.

My Kitchen

K - well, my future kitchen anyways. Minus the island, and plus a big window in the very center, this is what I'm going to transform the kitchen into:
David also wants to pop out the wood middles of the upper cabinets and put glass in them. I thought I would just paint the cabinets, but his idea is to buy a couple at a time with each paycheck and then when we have them all, rip out the old and put in the new. I don't know how that would work with the countertop, though. Does it just pop right on and off??

House Drama

Well, we didn't get the house in Buckeye. Apparently the exact same weekend we put our offer on the house, 2 others did as well and we lost. =( After a few frustrating days of searching for another, we found one we LOVE!!!! We saw it on Monday, tried to put an offer on it Tuesday morning only to find out we needed our prequal to be through Bank of America. The only problem with that - David works during banking hours and didn't have a day off till yesterday (Friday). So we had to keep our fingers crossed the entire week it didn't go into contract with someone else. Luckily, our realtor knows the listing agent and kept tabs on it. The listing agent called our realtor Thursday to tell him there's 2 offers on it - both cash - but neither one as high as what we were going to offer. We quickly submitted our offer that night, got our prequal from B of A yesterday morning, and now we have to hope and pray we are chosen. We're hoping the fact that the listing agent knows our realtor, we're the highest bid, and we're a family  - not investors, will help our case. Here's the house:

First Cereal

This is officially the longest I've waited to start feeding my baby solids. The other three started around 3 months, and Shyla is 4 months now. But today, I gave her her first rice cereal - and she LOVED it! Gulped it down like a pro! And everytime the spoon came at her, she kicked her chubby legs and waved her chubby arms trying to grab the spoon to shove it in her mouth. Who would have thought? Chubby baby likes food?? Go figure! haha
