December Randoms

Seems I have one of these randoms posts each month. At least I'm consistent.... lol Between waiting to move, moving, Christmas, and Shyla's bday, I haven't had a lot of time to post regularily. So here's the randoms:
While waiting to close on our home, we went to see the temple lights. They are sooo pretty and I'm glad we were able to go this year! We also ate dinner at Organ Stop Pizza.

This is all the addresses we've called home

The girls are having fun cleaning out the barn to make a clubhouse!

Poor baby girl lost a fight with the trailer! She was climbing up but fell and scraped her whole face. =(

Happy Birthday, Baby Shyla!

This little spitfire redheaded girl has been such a welcome addition to our family! I truly did not know I needed her until she was here. Shyla is such a happy, sweet little thing! She is very much adored! For her first birthday, we went out to Black Angus for dinner and dessert. And because I'm lame and figured she wouldn't care anyways, I didn't even wrap her birthday presents. In fact, the only one wrapped is from Amber! Amber is such a good big sister! Happy Birthday, little girl! Love you, Bobbaloo!

Merry Christmas!

Hope your day was as wonderful as ours! We are thoroughly enjoying our new home. There's truly nothing like living in a home you own! We've been blessed many times over this year. What a wonderful season to reflect on our many, many blessings! By opening a million presents.... hahaha =)

Christmas Eve

After church on Sunday, David decided to go ahead and put up the Christmas tree - something we had debated for awhile. I'm glad he did. It's beautiful! Today David took the three older girls with him so I could wrap presents without any peekers. While he was out, he called to tell me he was buying a new truck. What?? Yup - he traded his Saab for a 2005 Ford F150 Lariat with a hardtop bed cover, four doors, seating for 6, leather interior with wood trim, dvd player, navigation system, and a covers-everything warranty. My only complaint - it's white. lol
Alex brought his kids over to play for a bit. We treated them to our favorite Hawaiian BBQ and showed him around our new home.
This evening we had fun with our traditional Christmas Eve program: reading from The Animals Merry Christmas book, singing carols, jammas from the elves, scripture reading, watching Claymation, setting our cookies and hot chocolate for Santa, and placing the stockings on the couch. The elves were pretty funny this year - they brought Amber and Jade boy footie pajamas! Hahahaha!!! The girls thought it was hilarious! Can't wait for the morning!
Thank you again, Lila! It's gorgeous!!

Amber couldn't stop laughing. lol

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

MOVING DAY!!!

What an incredible week it's been! On Tuesday, we FINALLY signed the papers and closed on the house! Also on Tuesday, we learned that David got promoted to the Director of Nursing! That's a two paygrade jump from where he's at now! Woohoo!!! So after we signed the papers, we had to wait for the loan to fund and record before we could officially move in. And that's today! It's been funded and recorded and I'm headed out in a minute to meet our realtor to take possession of the house. David's working today, but luckily his dad was able to help me load up the trailer. Thank you, Dee! =) Here we go.......

Progress

Just a short update on our upcoming move:
The bank approved the new purchase price. Our loan is currently with the underwriters who should call us tomorrow to set up a time to come sign the final closing paperwork. We should officially have the keys no later than Monday. Because it's a short sale, we will close by Friday, and then a couple days later get the keys. As if we haven't waited long enough....hmmm. Anyways, since we're so close, we went ahead and started painting this week. So far we (me, David's dad, a little bit David, and even a bit of Jami) have painted all 4 girly rooms (just have to finish edging Paisley's room and paint Amber's window sill) and the hallway. Tomorrow I'm finishing Paisley's room, the girls' bathroom, and hopefully the living room. The goal is to get as much of the house painted before Monday when we can start moving stuff over. Also on Monday, David and his dad will start construction on the 6th bedroom and extend the 1/2 bath into a 3/4 bath. So exciting!!! =)

November

I can't believe November is gone already! It seems like we've been waiting on eggshells for a long time now and I'm really, really tired of it. I didn't decorate for Halloween or Thanksgiving because we were supposed to be moving. And our moving day keeps being delayed. I NEED TO MOVE!!! Right now we're waiting for the bank to approve the appraisal price which is $15k less than our original offer. Good for us (I like paying less), but it's taking time which I really hate. So that's all we've been doing. Waiting. And waiting some more. I just uploaded all the pics from my camera for the past month. There's 10. And then I borrowed 2 from Tai. lol Here they are:
Such a sweet, grimey face!

Papa and Amber working on a puzzle together

These girls sure love their Daddy!

These two girls had such a great time playing together. We were so happy to see Zach, Tai, & family!

What a face! lol

Why are my kids so weird??

Oh, I guess they get it from their Mama....

Paisley's New Jacket

Last year I discovered I am pretty good at making jackets. So this year I made Amber and Jade real jackets they wore with their Halloween costumes. But Paisley was Alice and didn't get a jacket. On one of my trips to SAS, I found some super soft pony fur for super cheap and bought thinking I could use it for a blanket or jacket for at least one of the girls. Paisley adores it! So I used it for her jacket. And there's enough for me to make a jacket for Shyla and probably one more for somebody! When I went to Joann's for buttons, I found little horse buttons - perfect! So here's Paisley's super adorable jacket she loves:
