What We've Been Up To

Other than hard life choices anyways.....

Amber and Jade LOVE playing games together. Here they are having fun with Monsters, Inc. Life. We played it for FHE awhile back so they know how to play without grown-ups needing to explain the rules. If they're not sure what to do....they just make it up. lol A few weeks back, I took them with me to Joann's and let them pick out fabric. They ended up choosing coordinating prints! So I mix-matched them and made them both "matching" dresses. They were pretty happy about them! They really like wearing matching clothes.

This funny girl likes hanging out on the kitchen bay window ledges. Especially with a phone to "chat" on!

Amber likes helping Jade read chapter books. They really are the best of friends! I love it! They are both much better at being big sisters than I was... Sorry, Shell Bell!

Here's my naughty baby caught in the act! She climbs up the piano daily just to get to our "fun" stuff. She also enjoys climbing onto the table and from the toilet up to the bathroom sink. Such a turkey!

Pie getting her nails painted. David struggled to get her to sit still, got 4 painted, then gave up. He told me to finish. I just laughed. =)

Final Decision

We've decided to stay. Signed a new lease Friday, so we're here for the next year. We listed our house for rent with a realtor and he says the house is awesome and should have no problem renting quickly. David's uncle may be interested in renting it, too, so he's going to come take a look at it in the next bit. So now that our decision is made and we're for sure staying here, I'M SO EXCITED TO DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS!!! We didn't get to last year cause we moved in Dec 19th and there was just no time/point in putting up lights. I did pull the tree out, but that's all that was done. But this year....I hope Dave's prepared for my crazy plans! =)

Help Please!!

K - we're having a major problem deciding what we should do. Our lease here is up December 19th. Our family who has been renting our home in Buckeye is moving out December 26th. David goes to school pretty much every day. His school is approx. 50 miles from our Buckeye home but only like 15 from here. Our rent is $900 and our mortgage is $850. So....do we move back to Buckeye and pay a whole ton more in gas and see David waaaay less than we do now? Or do we renew our lease here and really really hope and pray someone rents our house in Buckeye? And no, there's absolutely, positively no way to possibly pay both payments until someone comes along. Oh - and the Buckeye house needs to be painted, doors need to be replaced, and the master bedroom carpet also needs to be replaced. And no, we really don't have the $$ to do it - we're going on super sucky paycheck #5 (David gets paid 100% commission). But on the other hand, we really don't have $$ for all the extra gas if we do move. And we really love seeing David. We'd miss him a lot. So....what do we do???

*The carpet needs to be replaced cause one of our retarded cats tore it up right at the doorway. He was trying to dig his way out of the room. So because of a 1x4in gap at the doorway, it's gonna cost $500 just to replace the one room. Anyone have a cheaper, creative solution?

Fun At The Park

It's 4:30am. I've been up for an hour now. Up out of bed. I don't know how long I laid there pretending to still be asleep. I really hate insomnia. I'm tired. Soooo tired. But my body just won't sleep. Grrrr. So - I'm blogging.
Saturday we picked up Little Caesar's Pizza and took it to the park. The girls had a ton of fun! Apparently I have 2 large-ish monkeys and a little slider! Paisley discovered she LOVES the slide. She wanted to go again and again and again and again and again...... She went down the big twirly slide with Amber and Jade once, then by herself 1/2 a dozen times. A few times she got to the bottom upside-down - and giggling her little head off! Jade showed off her mad monkey bar skills and Amber had fun trying to make the wheel turn. Oh, and Pie does NOT like the swings. lol

The Mystery Plant

We have a mystery watermelon plant growing in our pool yard. No one planted any seeds....and yet it's grown a few fruits now! The other evening I noticed a few creepers had made their way into the pool so I went out and dragged them back into a pile. And I noticed a rather larg-ish watermelon! BTW - up to this point, I had no idea what kind of plant it was....just that I knew it wasn't a weed and was pretty sure it was some sort of squash plant. Anyways, I picked the watermelon to determine if it really was a watermelon. So I brought it in, cut it open, smelled it, licked it, and declared it a watermelon. Although it was not ripe. This is what threw me off to begin with cause it was white inside. And I don't like watermelon so I never knew unripe watermelons are white inside. (I thought it was a weird giant cucumber)When I told this to David, he just looked at me. Thanks for making me feel like a moron! lol

The Last of Them

Here's the last of the fancy costumes I made.
Ball Gown for a lady in Hawaii

Angel costume for a lady in Kansas. I had to hand-sew all the fluffy marabou. It took for-ev-er!

Ariel's pink dress. The sleeves are just like in the movie. Took me a little bit to make up how to do it.

Costume totals:
     34 total sold on ebay
     6 total sold on etsy
6 costumes made for friends and my children
     14 Bo Peeps
     7 Little Red Riding Hoods
     4 Glindas
     5 various fairies

The remaining costumes were a couple here, a couple there: Pirates, Indians, Woody and Jessie, Princesses, Jedi, puppy, Spongebob, Dorothy, Witch, etc.
All of these made and sent in about 50 days. =)

Halloween Fun: Part II

So, even though Halloween was on a Sunday this year, I still allowed the girls to go trick-or-treating. And they had a blast! Even Paisley had fun.....for the first 10 houses or so. Then all she wanted to do was sit in her stroller and eat candy. Our neighborhood is definately a step-up from our old one in Buckeye as far as Halloween goes. The last 2 Halloweens there were hardly any kids out and we had to walk pretty far between houses with candy. This year, there were very few houses with no lights on - a sure indicator there's no candy to be had - and hoards of kids collecting candy. We got stuck in a group of 20-ish kids and Amber and Jade had to stand in line to get their treat. Thankfully, I was able to break free and said goodbye to dumb candy lines! =) David stayed home to pass out candy and when I got back with the girls, he had our fun Halloween cd playing and everything! Pie ran up and just wanted to dance and dance! She got a LOT of comments, laughs, and even a picture or two from other trick-or-treaters. Silly girl!
Amber and Jade - sorry - *Rosetta* and *Silvermist* setting out the Jack-o-Lanterns

Paisley with her very first candy from next door

David rearranged the pumpkins

Pie really wanted the candy, but was terrified of the skeleton dude "blocking" her way!

This is Paisley right at her bedtime. She's tired. But enjoying her Reese's Cup.

Halloween Fun

Just a couple days late.....

Last Thursday, we went to our friend's the Marks' for dinner and to carve pumpkins. We had a really great time! All the kids got along well, the food was delicious, and it was entertaining to see how everyone carved their pumpkins. The sweetest thing about the evening was definately Paisley and Lucas! They sat at a small picnic table on the porch and fed each other bites of food from one plate. They even swapped sippies! Then after they were done eating, they played together with some long plastic tubes. They both used them to talk into and then tried swordfighting - but that didn't work so well since the tubes were much longer than either kid! David and Elliot had a little trouble figuring out how to open the pumpkins, but somehow managed to get it done without any accidental stabbings. =) Amber and Jade weren't very helpful cleaning out the pumpkin guts - they were too grossed out - but Paisley sure had fun eating them! I don't think she liked how they tasted since she made a funny bitter face after each bite and ended up spitting it back out, but she just kept putting more in her little mouth! All the pumpkins tunred out awesome!
